DataPort Engine

The Content Manager DataPort Engine Progress Window can provide feedback to the user on an import or export, as long as they are running it with the Progress Window enabled.

Process Information

The Process Information window displays the progress of the import or export process. The process information window has a main reporting area which indicates what part of the process is being attempted. This will include things like initialization messages such as Initializing process, connection to the database and statistics from the process.  These messages are displayed in order of operation.

There are also two progress bars displayed on the process information window. A sub-step progress bar may show the process of setting the properties of an item in an import run for example. The main progress bar also shows the percentage complete for exports.

The estimated time and time elapsed (for exports only) are also displayed on the Process Information window.

Text updates are also reported. These include Setting Property: Property Name, Value: Value from import file, items found, processed, exported or imported, errors and warnings.

When using the command line, the TRIMDataPort.exe application exits with an exit code of 0. During this process, it is difficult to know if any error occurred or not. This functionality is enhanced by providing an exit or return code. If there are errors or warnings encountered, DataPort displays an exit code value greater than zero. The value 0 indicates that there are no errors or warnings encountered.

If required, users can Cancel a process from the Progress Window.

To close the Progress Window, click the X (Close) button.
